Members of the Zanu PF Women’s League have accused Marondera’s provincial executive of stealing tonnes of chicken feed and chemicals donated by Grace Mugabe. The theft has forced the women to feed their birds on Sadza resulting in some of the chicks dying.
A beneficiary of the project said:
We now strongly suspect that our supplies were looted by the senior officials for their personal use. Our MP, Lawrence Katsiru has told us to use our own resources to buy the chicken feed. But we don’t have the money. If we had money to buy the feed, we would not have bothered queuing for Mai Mugabe’s donations as we would have started our own projects. Our birds are not improving. We received 50 birds from the donation and some have died due to lack of proper feeds.
Efforts by NewZimbabwe.com to get a comment from Katsiru were fruitless.
