Government has reduced car registration fees. The cost of number plates was reduced by half from $160 to $80.
In a notice Government announced that the Minister of Transport and Infrastructural Development Joram Gumbo made the changes in terms of section 52 of the Vehicle Registration and Licensing Act [Chapter 13:141]. Below are the new registration fees according to Statutory Instrument 54 of 2018:
- Vehicle registration- $80,00
- Vehicle number plate replacement- $80,00
- Trailer registration- $70,00
- Trailer number plate- $70,00
- Third number plate- $17,50
- Replacement of registration book- $15,00
- Personalised number plate- $2 500
