Mnangagwa Is Different From Mugabe, Lets Give Him A Chance Says Zvorwadza As Police Remove Vendors

Addressing stakeholders at a symposium on peace and the 2018 harmonised elections in Harare yesterday, National Vendors Union of Zimbabwe (Navuz) president Stan Zvorwadza said President Emmerson Mnangagwa is different from his predecessor Robert Mugabe and should be given a chance.

Zvorwadza said vendors have not suffered under Mnangagwa’s administration and should vote for him. Yesterday police closed down the Charge Office Flea Market saying it poses a security threat. The police allegedly evicted the vendors who had been operating at the site with no prior warning. Said Zvorwadza:

The former president (Mr Mugabe) is different from the current President. The president of the republic, who is now former, vowed that the gun was mightier than the pen but President Mnangagwa is saying the pen is mightier than the gun…Our membership has suffered physically and economically at the hands of the previous administration but we have not suffered so far at the hands of the current administration so let us give them a chance.
