Mutsvangwa Norton Rival Denies Being Forced To Step Down, Pledges To Support Mutsvangwa

In an interview with The Herald, Langton Mutendereki who pulled out from Zanu-PF primary election reruns in Norton to pave way for Christopher Mutsvangwa, pledged to support President Emmerson Mnangagwa’s Special Advisor.

Mutendereki who is now Mutsvangwa’s campaign manager, also dismissed rumours that he was forced to step down. He pledged to support Mutsvangwa throughout the campaign. Said Mutendereki:

Unity within the Zanu-PF party is crucial at this stage where we are preparing for the upcoming harmonised elections. I will support Cde Mutsvangwa so that we claim victory in Norton. I am now Cde Mutsvangwa’s campaign manager. I have heard rumours that I was forced to step down from the race, those are all lies. Nobody forced me to step down. My decision was for the good of the party considering that Norton is currently not ours and the only way for us to win it back is through unity. Everything I did was for the good of the party and it was out of my own will because we should all come out of our shells to form a united front.
