Cold Temperatures To Persist

The Meteorological Services Department (MSD) has warned of another cold period from tomorrow to Thursday next week. MSD also predicted some light rains.

Daytime temperatures are expected to drop to below 15 degrees Celsius between Sunday and Wednesday. However, from Thursday 19 July 2018 daytime temperatures should gradually recover. Areas that are set to be affected are Bulawayo Metropolitan, Matabeleland South, southern areas of the Midlands (Zvishavane to Gweru), Masvingo, Manicaland, Mashonaland East and Harare. Part of a statement from MSD reads:

The Meteorological Services Department wishes to advise the public that another cold spell is expected to affect the country from Sunday 15 to Thursday 19 July 2018. This is due to pressure surges off the south-east coast of South Africa pushing cold and moist south-easterly airflow into Zimbabwe causing a sharp drop in daytime temperatures particularly over the southern and central parts of the country.
