The women’s senior national soccer team, the Mighty Warriors defeated Namibia 1-0 in their opening match of the 2018 COSAFA Women Championship on Thursday morning. The Mighty Warriors got their solitary goal from Marjory Nyahumwe who scored in the 18th minute. The Namibia goalkeeper did well to concede only one goal as she thwarted striker Rutendo Makore on a number of occasions.
Zimbabwe is currently second in Group C, behind Uganda who beat Swaziland 4-3 on Wednesday.
