Chicken Inn striker Obadiah Tarumbwa who was in June convicted on charges of maintenance default by Bulawayo magistrate Miss Rachel Rumbidzayi Mukanga started serving his sentence on Monday at Bulawayo Prison. Tarumbwa was sentenced to 8 months in prison for failing to settle maintenance areas of almost $6000.
Tarumbwa pleaded with the Magistrate saying that he cannot afford to the $316 per month for his two minor children as he is not on a fixed contract. He has since applied to the High Court to have the sentence reviewed. He also begged for an extension to allow him to pay off his arrears.
