"That Zimbabwe Is At A Defining Moment Is Not In Doubt," Analysis

News Day Zimbabwe has claimed that the country is at a defining moment. The publication notes that issues including inflation, shortage of electricity supply, and the political crisis all can be essential in shaping Zimbabwe’s future.

The article further notes that Zimbabweans lack tolerance for each other. Resultantly, issues which could be solved easily would become very hard to fix. It also observes that intolerance has prevailed in Zimbabwe particularly between the main opposition MDC party the ruling Zanu PF party.

Recently, the MDC has been threatening to take to the streets and bushes of rural areas to protest the country’s deteriorating economic situation while ZANU PF has been vowing to squash those protests. The article further notes that due to intolerance, there have been human rights abuses which attracted sanctions from the international community. Part of the article reads:

That Zimbabwe is at a defining moment is not in doubt. And as much as some among us, who appear to be perpetually nursing denial, would like to gloss over the country’s challenges as a passing fade, the sooner we all come to the party and accept the difficult political and socio-economic issues confronting us, the better it will be for this troubled nation.

News Day further asserts that it is justifiable for the citizenry to demonstrate against a political crisis, a currency crisis, an economic crisis and an electricity crisis. It warns against trying to block those wishing to vent out their anger saying that confrontation will not help matters.
