Energy Minister, Advocate Fortune Chasi says power and fuel challenges will only end if Zimbabweans pay for power consumed, if they use power responsibly and if there is transparency in the fuel sector. He also said that there shall be regulation of consumption which he said has already started at the Ministry of Energy. The minister said that Zimbabwe is working with ESKOM and Hydro Cahorra Bassa to enhance power supply. He also hinted on reforms that must be implemented in the energy sector.

Zimbabwe has a crippling power shortage that has resulted in very long hours of power cuts. Most suburbs have as a result gone without power for 17 hours every day.
