Econet’s TV streaming service box Kwese Play, is currently down in at least 2 countries, Zimbabwe and South Africa. Customers of the company have been complaining on social media that they can no longer use their devices with the error “Econet no longer offers Kwese Play”. The earliest complaints were posted on in the early hours of 3 July 2019.

It’s not clear if indeed Econet is no longer offering the service as the company’s support people have indicated that they are investigating the problem.
The situation comes 7 months after Econet shut down the Kwese satellite TV service without notice, with many customers getting to know of it through news articles on the internet. Then, some customers complained that Econet outlets had let them subscribe to the service, even after it had been shut down.
