Robbers Pounce On Malawi Truck Driver In Headlands

Robbers pounced on a Malawi truck driver on Sunday and got away with mobile phones, clothes and US$70, among other items on Sunday.

According to Manicaland deputy police spokesperson Assistant Inspector Luxon Chananda, eight robbers armed with knives and hammers attacked Mwiza Mukandawire (32), an employee of Almedia Transport Logistics, which is based in Lilongwe, Malawi.

Mukandawire’s vehicle had developed a mechanical fault at Eagle’s Nest shopping centre. The robbers pillaged the vehicle and took most of his belongings and melted into the darkness.

The Malawian national made a report at Headlands Police Station.
