"Nothing Will Stop ZANU PF From Retaining Mangwe Constituency Seat" - Chief Hobodo -

Traditional leader, Chief Hobodo and ZANU PF candidate for Mangwe Constituency by-election, Hlalani Mguni, widow of former ZANU PF Deputy Chief Whip, Obedingwa Mnguni have said that the ruling party was assured for victory in the by-election.

They speak ahead of the by-election set for 7 September to fill the post left vacant by Obedingwa Mguni.

ZANU PF spokesperson, Simon Khaya Moyo, is also reported to have visited Matebeleland Province ahead of elections to mobilise the leadership and the electorate.

Meanwhile, Mangwe by-election will be held on the same day with the Glenview South Constituency, Harare.

ZANU PF has so far won most of the by-election held in the country after the 2018 elections.

Analysts have failed to explain the trend as they expected the current socio-economic issues to weigh down the ruling party’s winning chances.

Opposition MDC led by advocate Nelson Chamisa has cried foul over suspected intimidation of voters, vote-buying and rigging.
