"Interests Of The Guys Who Removed Mugabe Matter For Transformation" - ANALYSTS

Political analysts have said that it is of much vitality to engage the security sector as the nation seeks to find solutions to socio-economic and political crises.

Speaking during a discussion on the country’s deepening political and economic crises in Harare on Thursday evening, Pride Mukono, the chairperson of Crisis in Zimbabwe Coalition’s youth committee, said:

I think we really need to have a dialogue and that … has to be very sincere. Sincerity starts with Mnangagwa acknowledging that he is not in charge.

We have to go back and say to the guys who rode down tanks and removed (former president Robert) Mugabe, ‘what are your interests in respect of this country’?

Mukono’s remarks were also supported by Jealousy Mawarire, the spokesperson of the National Patriotic Front (NPF), who observed that the political crisis emanated from the military-installed government.

All the recommendations to have an all-inclusive dialogue come when president Mnangagwa has initiated a dialogue, POLAD, that houses several losing presidential candidates in the 2018 elections.

Analysts have argued that the dialogue will not yield any meaningful results as the major opposition party in the country, MDC led by Advocate Nelson Chamisa, is not partaking in the dialogue.
