Former Adviser To Robert Mugabe Speaks On The Crises In Zimbabwe

Bishop Fidelis Mukonori, a former spiritual advisor to Zimbabwe’s founding leader, Robert Mugabe has said that the country needs unselfish leaders who can unite the people.

He said that human beings, unlike animals, need to be diplomatic in order to find solutions to their problems. Speaking to New Zimbabwe in an interview, Mukonori said:

Therefore we should learn to discuss, debate and to argue whether it takes one hour, one day, one year or five years, it is not a matter of an individual we still need to learn to dialogue no matter how intelligent you are, and how gifted you are.

He speaks when there is an impasse between the two prominent political parties in the country, the ruling ZANU PF and the opposition MDC with analysts saying the standoff has worsened the crisis in the country.

The country is facing a multitude of issues including inflation, fuel shortages, cash crisis, huge power deficit and a deteriorating democratic space.
