MDC Leaders Accused Of Being On ZANU PF's Payroll

The opposition MDC has been castigated for its failure to dislodge an “incompetent” ZANU PF from power during two decades of existence.

Questions have therefore been raised about the opposition party’s raison d’être (the most important reason or the purpose for its existence).

An opinion article in The Standard suggests that the MDC leadership is employed by ZANU PF to keep the opposition in the opposition. The authour writes:

The ever clueless opposition, which always behaves suspiciously like Zanu PF employees would make a good case study of how a vibrant opposition political party can remain in opposition for more than 20 years despite facing an equally clueless and incompetent ruling party.

They have it all in their favour, including hyperinflation, unemployment, cash shortages, in fact, shortages of just about anything, including electricity, water, bread and good governance. They continue to remain in opposition despite two decades of existence.

The authour argues that the MDC has handed ZANU PF a two-thirds parliamentary majority by fielding double candidates or no candidates at all in some constituencies.

This proves that the MDC leaders are on ZANU PF’s payroll to keep their ZANU PF bosses in power, the author asserts.
