Govt Orders Teachers & Pupils To Attend Anti-sanctions March

The government has requested officials in the Ministry of Primary and Secondary Education to release students to participate in the anti-sanctions march in Harare this Friday.

A letter addressed to the Provincial Education Director for Harare Metropolitan Province  by the Secretary in the Ministry, Tumisang Thabela reads:

REQUEST FOR THE RELEASE OF LEARNERS TO PARTICIPATE IN THE ANTISANCIONS MASS DISPLAYS PRESENTATION ON 25 OCTOBER 2017

The above subject refers;

Your office is requested to facilitate the release of 2304 learners and teachers who formed the Independence Mass Displays team 2019 from High Glen District Schools for the Mass Displays performance, which the Ministry will present on 25 October 2019 at a venue to be advised.

May you also facilitate for 30 general hand staff from Warren Park/Mabelreign District to assist with the laying of background art books which shall be used for the performance.

Government has committed the 25 of October 2019 as the day the whole of SADC will be holding various activities to call for the removal of sanctions imposed on Zimbabwe by the Western and European Community.

The Mass Displays Team from Head Office will conduct training at Glen Norah 1 High from Monday 21 October 2019 until the day of presentation.

You are requested to ensure the availability of the learners and their teachers for this important government event without disrupting examinations that are already in progress.
