Teenage Father Poisons Child Over Paternity Dispute With Wife

A Rusape teenage father allegedly poisoned his son and killed him following a paternity row with his wife.

The young father from Mayo reportedly fed a tobacco pesticide into his son’s mouth with a syringe in a bid to fix the mother.

Manicaland deputy police spokesperson Assistant Inspector Luxson Chananda confirmed the incident to Manica Post. He said:

I confirm that the child was (allegedly) poisoned on October 31, 2019, at home by his father.

The accused took advantage of his wife’s absence to poison the child. The wife had gone to the river to fetch water and when she returned, she found her son in the bedroom vomiting and frothing.

The child died in its mother’s arms, and when police arrived and interrogated the teenage father, he admitted to poisoning the child.
