CZR has implored Miller’s to lower the price of mealie-meal saying its too much for the consumer. This was said by Confederation Of Zimbabwe Retailers President, Denford Mutashu who commended the move by the President to subsidise maize and rice since its staple food.
Mutashu said:
The President’s intervention is greatly appreciated and millers, retailers and wholesalers should comply with the directive and save the suffering consumers.
The intervention shows he (President Mnangagwa) indeed is a listening President after our concerns that the budget removed mealie-meal subsidies in a drought year
This came a few days after the price of mealie meal shot to $100 per 10 KG
