ZIMRA 'Seizes' Mushekwi's Caps United Bus, Demands Additional Duty Payment

The Zimbabwe Revenue Authority (ZIMRA) has resolved to take into its custody the luxurious bus bought by Nyasha Mushekwi for his former club Caps United.

Mushekwi confirmed the development but said he was not sure why ZIMRA had made the move after he cleared the bus with the authority when it was brought into the country. Said Mushekwi:

I just heard they (ZIMRA) are taking the bus, it’s quite disappointing, I don’t understand the situation because they were the ones who told me to pay the duty which I paid for the bus to be cleared to come home.

Now, I’m hearing they are saying the duty I paid wasn’t enough for a bus like the one I brought in and, maybe, they want me to pay more, I don’t really know.

Mushekwi bought the 45-seater bus in China for his old club as a “thank you” gift for the role it played in his career.

The Chinese-based striker flew from his base to clear the bus at the Beitbridge Border Post and then handed it over to CAPS United officials.
