MDC president Nelson Chamisa has issued a statement on New Year’s eve, encouraging the nation to be hopeful for better things in 2020. He posted the statement on his Twitter handle on Tuesday evening. The statement read:
In 2019 we have known pain, loss, devastation, struggle and tears.We also fought and celebrated the resilience of a nation whose best is yet to come. We thank God for grace.Thank you for all the encouragement. May 2020 bring opportunity, hope and happiness.
I know the hurts, setbacks, pain and despair of you have had to endure in 2019 but we have now entered a new decade, a decade of surprises, transformational changes. 2020 is a year of GREAT CHANGE in Zimbabwe. We are all in it. Eyes on the ball. #Godisinit
