'Don't Cry Over Riverton Academy Fees, Do You Have Kids There?'

Schools opened today for the first term of 2020 and there has been an outcry over the exorbitant fees being charged by some private schools.

However, an avid supporter of the government on Twitter using the handle @nicolenhodo said Zimbabweans should stop being crybabies and simply withdraw their kids from expensive schools and send them to the cheaper ones. Below is Hondo’s post:

Zimbabweans are crybabies. You spend days crying over Riverton Academy fees of $100k when you have no kids there! Are the parents with kids at Riverton crying?

Schools like that are for those who can afford. Iwe do the best YOU can afford. Chero ku States (even in the United States of America) is everyone super-rich?

Riverton Academy, a private college in Masvingo, is charging $106 000 (one hundred and six thousand) for the first term.

Meanwhile, the government has warned schools against increasing fees or charging in foreign currency.
