ED Puts Leave On Hold, Jets Off To Mozambique For Nyusi's Inauguration

President Emmerson Mnangagwa, who is on his annual leave, has left Harare for Maputo, Mozambique for the inauguration of the President-Elect, Filipe Jacinto Nyusi following his re-election for a second term last October.

Mnangagwa was met at Maputo International Airport by Zimbabwe’s ambassador to Mozambique, Ambassador Douglas Nyikayaramba, senior Mozambican Government officials and Embassy staff.

Mnangagwa commenced his annual leave on January 8 and unlike his predecessor, the late Robert Mugabe who used to travel to the Far East, he chose to enjoy his leave in the country.

In Mnangagwa’s absence, Vice Presidents General (Rid) Dr C.G.D.N. Chiwenga and Colonel (Rid) Cde K.C.D. Mohadi, will take turns to act in his place, starting with Honourable Vice President Chiwenga.
