Zim Live has said that the Mercedes Benz which Sakunda Holdings boss, Kuda Tagwireyi bought for Vice President Constantino Chiwenga may reflect how much influence the businessman has on elite politicians in Zimbabwe.
Chiwenga was forced to disclose that he got the gift from Tagwireyi after his estranged wife, Mary Mubaiwa-Chiwenga demanded a share of the former army boss’ properties.
Some ZANU PF bigwigs are on record admitting that Tagwireyi bailed out the ruling party on several occasions hence he must be treated with respect.
This is of great concern as there are possibilities that Sakunda boss might commit crimes and be granted impunity since he is highly connected.
Tagwireyi is already accused of abusing the Command Agriculture fund amounting to US$3 billion and the revelation that Chiwenga was allocated a US$120,000 Lexus LX 570 under the government’s opaque Command Agriculture programme bankrolled by Tagwireyi’s Sakunda Holdings does not help the case.
ZANU PF has been protecting Tagwireyi from being investigated over the Command Agriculture matter and disrupting a Parliamentary investigative process that was meant to establish the merits and demerits of the matter is a case in point.
