ED: There Are No Quick Fixes To Zimbabwe's Problems

President Emmerson Mnangagwa has called for a concerted effort in tackling Zimbabwe’s social and economic challenges.

Speaking at the inaugural Political Actors Dialogue (POLAD) Economic Summit held at the Harare International Conference Centre on Thursday, Mnangagwa said:

No one has a monopoly of ideas on how our country can speedily modernise, industrialise, develop and grow. It is only through dialogue and hard honest work that our collective efforts can be fruitful.

Let us be realists and acknowledge that to put our country back on its rails will not be an event but a process. There are no quick fixes. We must be bold and stay on course, always seeking sustainable means to resolve our challenges.

Without directly mentioning names, Mnangagwa called on MDC leader Nelson Chamisa, Joyce Mujuru, Nkosana Moyo and political leaders that have not joined POLAD to do so.

Chamisa, who claims to have won the 2018 presidential poll, has refused to join POLAD, demanding to have a one-on-one dialogue with Mnangagwa.
