Dr Masimba Mavaza, a columnist in The Zimbabwe Mail has said that the opposition MDC must restrain their leader Nelson Chamisa.
These remarks are said after Chamisa’s visit to Wilkins hospital in Harare, an institution designated for infectious diseases in Zimbabwe. Part of Mavaza’s article read:
His last stance with the Corona virus is irresponsible… The time for acting is over Coronavirus is real. MDC A must find time to term their wild cat in Chamisa. Chamisa is not the only one who is not taking the virus lightly.
Chamisa went to the hospital “to assess” the situation at the institution but Dr Mavaza thinks Chamisa whom he calls “the drama queen” wanted to use the novel coronavirus, a contagious virus, to gain political mileage.
Zimbabwe is yet to register a coronavirus case, according to authorities, but it is feared that the country may be “reduced to nothing” if the virus spreads into the country because its health sector is collapsed.
Mavaza also observes that Zimbabweans have to worry about the novel and deadly coronavirus considering that the country struggled to contain Cholera resulting in over five thousand deaths.
