"We're Making A Killing Out Of Coronavirus,” Local Pharmacy Chain

A local pharmacy chain has revealed that it is making huge profits out of selling masks and sanitisers which are selling like hotcakes due to the outbreak of the coronavirus pandemic.

The manager of the anonymous pharmacy revealed while speaking to The Sunday Mail. The manager who spoke on condition of anonymity said:

We are making a killing out of coronavirus. Most of our medical sundries which include face masks are from China. Industries have been closed for over two months there, so this has caused shortages the world over.

For instance, the company I work for gets its stuff from a big manufacturer (name withheld) of medical sundries and it is closed because of coronavirus.

Another pharmacist who operates in Harare Central Business District also told the publication that the scarcity of the medical sundries was exposing health caregivers to the virus more than it does to the general public.

Meanwhile, the National Pharmaceutical Company (NatPharm), contrary to reports by some health practitioners and observers, is adamant that it has a steady supply of coronavirus supportive medicines and protective material.
