Publications ZIMPAPERS Will Continue To Print As Company Goes Into Semi-Lockdown

ZIMPAPERS has anounced that it has suspended the printing of some publications with effect from next week as the media house goes into semi-lockdown.

The development which was influenced by the outbreak of the coronavirus pandemic was announced in the media house’s statement. Read the statement:

In its contribution to the national effort to fight the spread of the coronavirus, Zimpapers has decided to go into a semi-lockdown and ask some of its employees to either work from home or proceed on leave. Critical staff will continue working from the main centres in Harare, Bulawayo, Mutare and Kariba as well as its bureaus spread across the country.

Chronicle reports that the company has sent 53 percent of its employees on leave while a majority will be working from home to reduce human traffic at the company’s workstations.

Zimpapers will remain with Chronicle, Sunday News, Herald, Sunday Mail and Manica Post in circulation while it will suspend printing other publications including H-Metro, uMthunywa, Kwayedza, B-Metro and Suburban.
