"If The Foundations Are Destroyed, What Can The Righteous Do," Khupe Responds To Chamisa

The Supreme Court might have ruled on the Movement for Democratic Change (MDC) leadership crisis, but, the matter seems to be far from over.

This is in light of verbal warfare between Thokozani Khupe who was reinstated by the ruling as the leader of the party and her rival Nelson Chamisa who was reduced to a Secretary of Policy and Development.

On Thursday evening, Chamisa wrote on Twitter:

Then one of the Twelve, the one called Judas Iscariot, went to the chief priests and asked, “What are you willing to give me if I hand Him over to you?”

And they set out for him thirty pieces of silver. So from then on Judas looked for an opportunity to betray Jesus. Matt 26:14-16.

Khupe posted a few hours later, quoting from the Book of Psalms:

If the foundations are destroyed, what can the righteous do?

She attached an image of the MDC Vanguard, a “violent” group of youths who were allegedly unleashed on her at the funeral of founding party leader Morgan Tsvangirai in February 2018.

The group is also alleged to have attacked Obert Gutu and Douglas Mwonzora and Chamisa promised that he would institute disciplinary actions against the youths but no action was taken ever since.
