32 Zimbabweans Jet In From Britain, Govt Has No Place To Isolate Them

Thirty-two Zimbabweans living in the United Kingdom were expected to land at the Robert Gabriel Mugabe International Airport on Monday afternoon (12:30 pm CAT) aboard Ethiopian Airlines registration number ETARF.

Zim Morning Post reports that government officials are not sure about what to with the returning nationals, as they are coming from one of the world’s hotspots of the new coronavirus.

The publication quotes its source as having said that the government does not have a ready isolation centre where they can be quarantined for the mandatory 21 days.

Currently, the Zimbabwean government’s policy is to encourage returning citizens to self-quarantine, something which is not considered to be effective.

Britain imposed a lockdown which is now moving into the fourth week, with 200 military personnel having recently been deployed to help ambulances deal with the crisis.

Meanwhile, the British Prime Minister Boris Johnson is recovering from coronavirus at his country residence of Chequers after being discharged from hospital.
