Self-Isolation Violating Bulawayo ZIMRA Employee Tests Negative For COVID-19

A Bulawayo based ZIMRA employee who violated self-isolation restrictions and travelled to Gweru with 4 other people in her car has tested negative for the deadly coronavirus, The Chronicle reports.

This was confirmed by Minister of State for Midlands Provincial Affairs and Devolution Larry Mavima who spoke to the publication and said:

The results of the Zimra Bulawayo officer came out negative. The woman is said to have travelled to Gweru before her Covid-19 results came out. The four passengers she travelled with to Gweru have been contacted and had Covid-19 tests done. They are waiting for results and they have all been put in quarantine just to be sure.

The employee had been put on self-isolation after he colleague tested positive for the virus. Response teams could not locate her when they went to her Bulawayo residence for a routine check-up and they were told she had travelled to Gweru where her family is based.
