A Bindura family has exhumed the body they had buried after they were told they had buried a wrong body, New Ziana reports. This came after bodies were mistakenly switched at Parirenyatwa hospital, the publication further claims.
According to New Ziana:
Four days earlier, the Batina family had buried Robert Machemedze, 40, at Woodbrooke-Makusha cementary, believing it was Taurai Batina, 34, who had died at Parirenyatwa hospital in Harare.
The bodies of the two were mistakenly switched at the hospital, resulting in the Batina family taking that of Machemedze, leaving that of Taurai, their relative.
The Machemedze family were happy to retrieve their relative’s body but were worried about burial rituals that might have been conducted before Robert was buried.
