The ruling ZANU PF has said that the leaders of the opposition Movement for Democratic Change (MDC) have faith in local courts.
These remarks are said after four members of the MDC Alliance who were recalled from Parliament recently have approached the courts for redress.
Posting on Twitter, the ruling party said the MDC knows that the courts are independent. The party tweeted:
MDC leaders have faith in the judiciary system
Contrary to what they say when they are angry after losing some of their court cases, its true MDC leaders have faith in the judiciary system. ZANU PF led Govt has since independence allowed our courts to operate without interference.
MDC has often criticised the courts saying that they bend according to the will of the ruling ZANU PF and political elites in the country at the expense of justice.
The party failed to acknowledge the Constitutional Court ruling on the 2018 Presidential election ruling that was in favour of ZANU PF and president Mnangagwa and more recently, the MDC faction led by Nelson Chamisa refused to acknowledge the Supreme Court ruling on the party’s leadership crisis that reinstated Thokozani Khupe as the legitimate leader.
