A Gweru traditional leader Trymore Nhari is suing the Home Affairs Minister Kazembe Kazembe and the Police Chief Godwin Matanga after police officers reportedly broke his left arm, and damaged his laptop, cellphones, wristwatch and chieftainship badge, New Zimbabwe reports. Chief Nhari is demanding $300 000 from the respondents.

In his court papers, Nhari recounted his ordeal at the hands of police details who assaulted him and his acquaintance, Shepherd Moyo twice on 30 April 2020 while the two were in Gweru central business district.
Chief Nhira is among scores of people reportedly suing the ZRP and ZNA for assault according to the publication.
