VP Mohadi Attributes New Dispensation's "Success" To Military Background Of Leaders In Presidium

Vice President Kembo Mohadi has said the country has registered a number of positives the previous administration failed to achieve in the past 38 years.

He attributes the said “achievements” to the military background which the leaders in the presidium have. The presidium is comprised of President Emmerson Mnangagwa and his two deputies, Constantino Chiwenga and Kembo Mohadi.

Commissioning a new bridge in Chirumhanzu, Midlands province, Mohadi said:

What we failed to achieve 38 years ago, we have done it. Maybe it goes to the fact that the people that are at the helm now in the presidium were once in the military high command.

We are all soldiers. If you want the best manager, it has been proven worldwide that you get a soldier.

His remarks echo those of president Mnangagwa who recently said his administration was delivering on the promises made during the 2018 harmonised elections.

Meanwhile, government critics have said the current administration is worse than that of the late Robert Mugabe after failing or worsening the socio-economic and political crises which were also prevalent during the previous administration.

Since 2017 when Mnangagwa took over power from Mugabe, Zimbabwe has been on a downward trend but authorities say that was expected after the introduction of austerity measures premised at kickstarting the economy.
