MDC-A Probe On Tendai Masotsha Yet To Be Finalised

The opposition MDC Alliance (MDC-A) is not yet ready to make public a report on the investigation of its senior official who was allegedly involved in the abduction of Midlands States University (MSU) journalism student, Tawanda Muchehiwa.

Tendai Masotsha, the Bulawayo MDC Alliance women assembly chairperson, was suspended by the province for her alleged involvement in the abduction of Muchehiwa by suspected State agents on July 30 in Bulawayo.

MDC-A spokesperson Fadzayi Mahere told NewsDay that the official report was almost ready. She said:

Would it be possible for us to wait for it to come out? I would not want to pre-empt anything.

In fact, it would be improper for me to do so taking into account the constitution and due processes.

The party’s secretary-general Chalton Hwende on Thursday confirmed that the report had been submitted to the party’s national council for scrutiny.

The MDC-A had promised to release the outcome of the investigation within 48 hours, but several months later, the report on the probe is yet to be made public.
