Obediah Moyo, the former Health and Child Care Minister will stand trial on 11 January next year.
Moyo appeared in court this Tuesday before regional magistrate Ngoni Nduna who furnished him with the trial date.
Moyo was arrested for his dealings with Drax International LLC and Drax Consult SAGL, companies prosecutors claim were illegally awarded contracts by the Health Ministry without a competitive tender process.
He is also accused of trying to force the Ministry of Finance to pay for 15,000 coronavirus test kits that were being held at the airport.
Delish Nguwaya, a local representative of Drax International, was arrested as part of investigations into the scam.
