AirLink To Introduce Non Stop Harare - Cape Town Flight In March

Privately owned regional airline Airlink will in March introduce non stop Harare Cape Town Flights. The news that Airlink, which according to investigative journalists NewsHawks is the region’s second-largest airline after Ethiopian Airlines, will ply the route first circulated last year in December.

Airlink CEO Rodger Foster according to Engineering News said they were excited to launch the new route back in December 2020 when they announced the development. Foster reportedly said:

Airlink is excited to be launching this important new route, which will provide convenience to  business and leisure travellers, saving them precious hours transferring via Johannesburg and also limiting their exposure to potential touchpoints, which is a key consideration as we adjust our travelling habits during the Covid-19 pandemic.

Airlink’s unique service on the route will also support trade, commerce and tourism between the two cities and their respective markets at a time when it is desperately needed.

The airline’s inaugural flight between the 2 cities will be on 3 March 2021. Airlink will join RwandAir in plying the same route. Air Zimbabwe has said they will also ply the same route soon but the flag carrier still has 2 aircraft and they are still doing 2 domestic routes and 1 regional route to Dar Er Salam in Tanzania.
