According to the Ministry of Health, 177 people have been hospitalized due to COVID-19 countrywide, 9 of those hospitalized are in the Intensive Care Unit.
This was contained in a daily COVID-19 update that stated that:
As of 31 January 2021 @1500hrs there were 177 hospitalised cases, 99 mild to moderate, 69 severe and 9 in intensive care units. NB Mater Dei did not report.
The update also noted that Harare remains the epicenter of the virus as it recorded over 50% of the new cases recorded on 1 February 2021. 10 of the day’s 17 COVID-19 deaths were recorded in Harare as well. While Mashonaland West recorded the highest number of recoveries after 263 people recovered from the virus.
