Notorious Zimbabwean Robber Jailed For Life In South Africa

A Zimbabwean man who is was believed to be part of a syndicate that would rob motorists between Musina and Makhado Town in Limpopo in South Africa has been sentenced to life in prison in South Africa, the Chronicle reports.

Tarusenga Thomas Chunga was reportedly convicted of murder, attempted murder, armed robbery, and violating South Africa’s Immigration Act.

His conviction and sentencing were confirmed by Limpopo police spokesperson, Colonel Moatshe Ngoepe who revealed that the syndicate which Chunga belonged to terrorised motorists between 2015 and 2017 before he was apprehended:

He was arrested in 2017 in Mahwelereng area under the Waterberg District following a lengthy investigation by our detectives.

Since then, he has been in remand prison and he failed to secure bail on numerous occasions until his conviction and sentencing on Wednesday.

Some of the gang members who committed the crimes with Chunga are still at large.
