A Jolotsho man who was presenting himself to society as a prophet of God was on Monday slapped with a 20-year jail sentence for ra_ping a minor that had gone to his home with her mother for prayers, Newsday reports.
34 year old Emmanuel Ncube was convicted after he plead guilt to one count of rape when he appeared before Hwange Regional Magistrate Collet Ncube.
According to the publication this is what transpired on the day Ncube commited the crime:
- On October 9, 2020 at 3pm, the mother of the minor took her and her two siblings to Ncube’s homestead for prayers.
- Ncube reportedly prayed for them and as they were leaving he asked the mother to leave the minor behind
- Ncube reportedly took her to his bedroom where he raped her and threatened to unleash evil spirits on her if she told anyone.
- The girl however told her mother the incident which led to Ncube’s arrest.
