Zimbabwe recorded 503 Rap_e cases in January 2021, ZBC News reports. This was revealed by Msasa Project director Mrs Precious Taru who said there was a huge lead in r_ape cases between January 2020 and January 2021. Said Mrs Taru:
Sexual violence is actually being perpetrated by strangers. Over the past three years January 2019 we had 89 cases, January 2020 we had 402 January 2021 we recorded 503 this is a reflection that the cases are actually going up.
We need to set stiffer penalties for would-be perpetrators so that we create a safe environment for the children and women.
Cases of different crimes being committed in different parts of the country and in different categories. ZRP recently lamented the increase in Ponzi schemes and cyber fraud, while cases of armed robberies are making headlines on a regular basis.
