Five people were killed and seven others injured when a FAW truck and a Mitsubishi truck collided head-on at the 129km peg along the Masvingo-Mbalabala Road Tuesday morning.
National police spokesperson Assistant Commissioner Paul Nyathi said the injured were taken to a local hospital for treatment. He said:
The ZRP confirms that five people died in a road traffic accident that occurred at the 129Km peg along the Masvingo-Mbalabala Road on June 29, 2021, at 0730hrs when a Faw truck and a blue Mitsubishi pick-up had a collision. Seven other occupants were injured and taken to hospital.
The police did not reveal the cause of the accident or more details about those who perished in the accident.
