Zimbabwean company, Africawide Zimbabwe (PVT) LTD through its subsidiary Africawide Health has secured exclusive rights to produce the newly patented Singapore developed Gill Mask in Southern Africa.
The development of the mask coincided with the outbreak of the deadly Covid-19 pandemic.
Africawide Chief Executive Officer, Douglas Chiimba, said the initiative is aimed at cutting costs in the mining community and on ordinary people who are struggling to have face masks during the pandemic. Said Chiimba:
_It is our duty to provide our consumers with affordable PPE (Personal Protective Equipment)._
_As young people we have the answers of the problems we are facing as a people, I want to be a role model to my fellow young people._
Gill Mask is a revolutionary reusable, cost-effective respirator that was initially developed to bring down the cost of respiratory masks in the mining industry.
It helps provide protection against particulates or microorganisms when used with Gill Filter.
It allows users to choose the filter that best suits their protective needs depending on the environment they are in.
