Zimbabwe Police Arrest Armed Robbers In Beitbridge

The Zimbabwe Republic Police (ZRP) on Monday 27 September 2021 announced that police in Beitbridge had arrested three armed robbers who were involved in cross border crimes. Pindula News presents a statement that was issued by police national spokesperson Assistant Commissioner Paul Nyathi.

ARREST OF ARMED ROBBERS IN BEITBRIDGE

The Security Services on operation “No To Cross Border Crimes/ Fhasi Ngamilandu Yamukanoni Yamashango/Mhosva Pamiganhu Ngadzipere/Amacala Kawaphele Emingceleni Yelizwe,” have arrested three (3) armed robbery suspects at Chinyampanze area, Beitbridge.

The suspects, Tafara Moyo (30), Munyaradzi Ncube (27) and Elphus Chigundubudze (34) were monitored while coming from the South Africa side carrying three (3) bags.

The suspects were ambushed, cornered and found with two (2) Vector CPI pistols with no serial numbers and a Beretta Gardone CPX4 pistol, serial number 3181E. The gang had one pistol with empty magazine and another loaded with three (3) rounds of 9 mm paralle-bruim, 2x 12 bore gauge sellier bellol and SPS-70-05

The suspects who are residents in South Africa were targeting a consignment of Remington Gold cigarettes which was due to be smuggled into South Africa by people who are yet to be identified.

The Zimbabwe Republic Police warns criminals involved in cross border crimes and robbery cases within the country that the security services are on high alert and will deal decisively with criminal syndicates.
