Robbers Get Away With Over US$135 000, Inverters, Batteries, Computers

An unnamed business premise in Avondale, Harare was robbed of over US$135 000, inverters, batteries and computers after five unknown assailants pounced on the premise on Tuesday this week.

The Zimbabwe Republic Police (ZRP) say the robbers tied a security guard who was on duty before stealing and getting away. Pindula News presents a police statement on the case:

Police in Harare are investigating a case of robbery which occurred at a business premise along College Road, Alex Park, Avondale on 15/02/22 at around 0230 hours. Five unknown suspects attacked a security guard (53) who was on duty and tied his legs and hands.

The suspects ransacked the offices before stealing valuables which include, two safes containing US$135 712 cash, four inverters, two batteries, a laptop and two computers.

Reports of robbery cases have been on the rise in the country in the past two years.

On Sunday, Pindula News reported that robbers armed with steel bars pounced on a steel company where they attacked a security guard on duty, handcuffed him with his handcuffs before getting away with a safe containing US$25 000.
