Weather report and forecast issued by the Meteorological Services Department in conjunction with the Department of Civil Protection.

PREAMBLE

There were thunderstorms across the country, with some of the highest rainfalls being 58mm (Nyakomba), 55mm (Lupane), 54mm (Harare, Southerton), 50mm (Mahenye Lisungwe), 39mm (Chipinge), 35mm (Nyazura), 28mm (Nyanga) 26mm (Gwanda, Denny’s Farm) and 25mm (Harare, Warren Park), as a cloud band swept eastward into the country from Botswana.

This cloud system is now over the north and the eastern parts of the country (parts of Matabeleland North, northern areas of Midlands, Harare Metropolitan, Manicaland and all Mashonaland Provinces).

FORECAST FOR TOMORROW, WEDNESDAY 06 APRIL 2022

Matabeleland North, northern parts of Midlands Harare Metropolitan, Manicaland and all Mashonaland Provinces are expected to have warm, humid and mostly cloudy conditions coupled with rain showers which may be thundery in places.

Brief cloudy periods and an odd shower, with warm weather, should be anticipated in southern areas of Midlands, Matabeleland South, Bulawayo Metropolitan and Masvingo Provinces.

  • Victoria Falls: Mostly cloudy with thunderstorms (Temperatures – 17/29)
  • Kariba: Mostly cloudy with thunderstorms (Temperatures – 23/32)
  • Great Zimbabwe: Briefly cloudy with isolated showers (Temperatures – 18/31)
  • Nyanga: Mostly cloudy with thunderstorms (Temperatures – 13/26)
  • Vumba:  Briefly cloudy with isolated showers (Temperatures – 15/28)
  • Matopos: Briefly cloudy with isolated showers (Temperatures – 15/30)
  • Chimanimani: Briefly cloudy with isolated showers (Temperatures – 18/26)

OUTLOOK: WEATHER FORECAST FOR THURSDAY 07 APRIL 2022

It should be mostly cloudy and warm with scattered thunderstorms in Matabeleland North, northern parts of Midlands, Harare Metropolitan, Manicaland and all Mashonaland
Provinces.

Provinces such as Masvingo, Matabeleland South, Bulawayo Metropolitan and southern areas of Midlands are expected to be mostly sunny and hot by day becoming mild towards evening, with a howling wind into the night.
