Minimum Wages For Domestic Workers Gazetted

The Government has gazetted new minimum wages for domestic workers in Statutory Instrument 102 of 2022.

The Minister of Public Service Labour and Social Welfare announced the new regulations.

The wage rates for yard worker/gardener are as follows: ZWL$10 000 (monthly), ZWL$2 500 (weekly), ZWL$454.50 (daily), and ZWL$50.50 (hourly).

For Cook/housekeeper, the wage rates are as follows: ZWL$10 500 (monthly), ZWL$2 625 (weekly), ZWL$477.30 (daily), and ZWL$53.03 (hourly).

The wage rates for Childminder or disabled/aged minder are as follows: ZWL$11 025 (monthly), ZWL$2 756.25 (weekly), ZWL$501.13 (daily), and ZWL$55.68 (hourly).

The wage rates for Disabled/aged minder with Red Cross Certificate or equivalent are as follows: WL$11 576.25 (monthly), ZWL$2 894 (weekly), ZWL$526.18 (daily), and ZWL$58.46 (hourly).

Workers who do not reside on their work premises are entitled to ZWL$4 000 for accommodation and transport.
