Police officers shot dead four suspected armed robbers during a shootout in Gwanda on Wednesday afternoon.
Police confirmed the incident in a post on their Twitter page, saying the suspects had robbed the complainant of a vehicle in Gwanda CBD earlier in the day. Police said:
The ZRP confirms a shoot-out incident which occurred this afternoon at around 1500 hours in Gwanda where four armed robbery suspects were shot dead by the Police.
The suspects had robbed the complainant of a vehicle in Gwanda CBD at around 1000 hours.
The Zimbabwe Republic Police (ZRP) added that details about the shooting incident will be released in due course.
