ZIFA Suspends Secretary-General Joseph Mamutse

The Zimbabwe Football Association (ZIFA) will hold its Annual General Meeting (AGM) on 28 January 2023.

The ZIFA Executive Committee met in Harare this Friday where it set the date for the AGM and suspended secretary-general Joseph Mamutse, among other resolutions. Here are the six resolutions that came out from the meeting:

1. The Association will partner with the Ministry of Primary and Secondary Education for the training of coaches. This is meant to capacitate schools with the requisite expertise, and it will go a long way in developing the beautiful game.

2. The Executive Committee resolved that the Annual General Meeting be held on the 28th of January 2023.

3. The Executive Committee has resolved to appoint an ad hoc committee consisting of 3 members to scrutinise matters arising from the forensic audit report and make recommendations.

4. The Executive committee has resolved to embark on the National Division league in line with section 10 of the ZIFA constitution. Modalities of its implementation will be made public in due course.

5. The Executive Committee has noted with concern that Central Region, Southern Region, and Mashonaland Central province are not participating in ZIFA activities and meetings. The Executive committee is seized with the matter.

6. The Executive Committee has resolved to suspend the General Secretary, Mr Joseph Mamutse for failing to report for duty when he was lawfully called upon to do so and also to facilitate investigations on issues arising from the forensic audit report.
