Former NetOne CEO challenges dismissal, opts for disciplinary hearing

Former NetOne chief executive officer Reward Kangai has once again filed an urgent application at the High Court challenging termination of his contract on notice. Kangai is now seeking an order to compel his former paymasters to proceed with a disciplinary hearing against him instead.

The former NetOne boss, who was served with a letter of termination on October 12, said NetOne chairperson Alex Marufu had acted without board authority when he fired him. Kangai also said he was still insisting that NetOne should proceed with the hearing so as to give him the platform to respond to the allegations levelled against him, which without the hearing, the world would never come know the truth about what happened at the parastatal.

Kangai said NetOne had asked him to respond to an audit report because it knew he had a right to response. NetOne is yet to respond to the application.
